I mean, of ALL the things you COULD or should? be doing right now, you’re reading my blog. And well, that means the world to me.

ALL DAY|EVERY DAY: Joggers

First, I saw them here, and I fell in love a little:

Then, I’m not gonna lie, I saw them on this young lad, and fell in love a lot (btw, if you know who this is…+5 points for you.):

So now, I’m thinking that they MUST be mine. They’re called “Joggers” (or “track pants”, but I’m going with “Joggers” because it sounds more British, which, by default, makes it better). They’re oh-so-comfy and versatile. And, I never thought I’d love anything with tapered legs (because USUALLY tapered is just bad bad. Like, “Mom jeans” bad), but I do. I love them. In all their tapered leg & drawstring/elastic waist glory. Yes, it’s the relaxed silhouette of a slim, tapered sweatpant in (and, lean in, this is the part that makes them awesome) NON-SWEAT (what?!) material, like wool or silk. Actually, that last part is really important, otherwise, you really are just wearing sweatpants…which is less awesome.

While I’m appreciating (obsessing), let’s take a second to appreciate (obsess over) these Markus Lupfer tuxedo joggers…

Joggers. They’re fancy (sweat)pants. And, I ain’t mad.

MAKEMOVES|MONDAY

This MAKEMOVES|MONDAY is brought to you by the word: COMPARISON.

Pretty much one of the most dangerous (1,2,3,4…) 10-letter words out there.

We’re all guilty of doing it. It just comes so naturally. You see someone with something you want, and you think, ” Well, why can’t I have it too?” You’re a good person. You work hard. You want it just as much, if not more. You are…a million things, but one: You’re not that person.

You’ve lived a completely different life from that person, gone through completely different experiences, made completely different choices…how could you expect the outcome to be EXACTLY the same?

Beyond comparing apples to oranges (which are actually pretty similar things if you think about it), you’re comparing one lifetime of choices to another. That’s like picking two completely different & random books, comparing them page by page, and expecting the words to line up the same. Not gonna happen. And, kind of a REALLY big waste of time.

Soooo, you should probably just, you know, stop comparing yourself to others.

Free your mind, friend. Just do your thang, trust your path, & if there’s something you want THAT bad, fuck, work tirelessly, doing everything you can to get it. If you’re doing that, you won’t have time to compare. And, you’ll be so much happier for it:)

ALL DAY|EVERY DAY: Dance in Yo Undies Music

Guys, this is pretty much me, in my room, right now:

Juuust dance-dancing with this new favorite “dance in yo undies” song on repeat. It’s also my “dance while brushing yo teeth”, “dance while making yo morning coffee”, and “dance while driving…anywhere” jam. Haha.

BEST|PORTRAITS|EVER

One day, I will have a study (because I’m an old man like that) and it will have floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a giant globe, a secret room (duh), and, now, one of these portraits.

English portraitist, George Dawe, painted the portraits of some 300+ Russian generals active during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia. A couple hundred years later, Dawe’s portraits are getting a little modern-day, celebrity facelift…courtesy of image manipulator, Steve Payne, and his project, ReplaceFace.

I’m thinking the Morgan Freeman or the Bill Murray will look most excellent above my desk…

COLOR|CRUSH: Atomic Orange

So…the other day, this happened:

My obscenely bright water bottle…matched my obscenely bright jacket. Apparently, I have a new favorite color: Atomic Orange. Like the sun, it’s bold and bright and oh-so-warm…and I just CAN’T. LOOK. AWAY. Also, like the sun, I’m pretty sure if you stare at it for too long, you’ll start seeing stars. It kinda makes my heart giddy though, so, of course, I’m smitten.
